History

Wolfcamp Energy, LLC was formed in late 1991 in Midland, Texas, at which time it began raising capital from financial institutions and succeeded in closing a number of attractive acquisitions in the Permian Basin. In 1993, Wolfcamp merged with Argee Oil Company; a Midland based producing company and Joe-Bob Industries, Inc.; a Dallas based natural gas producing company. Wolfcamp was successful in acquiring from Energy Services Investment, Inc. the 15 mile Adams-Baggett gas gathering system located in Crockett County, Texas.  In 1997, Wolfcamp acquired the Cole and Kincaid Ranch gathering system and compressor stations from Winchester Production Co.  In 2004, Wolfcamp acquired the Kincaid and Mills Ranch producing properties and 5 mile pipeline system from Thomas Oil and Gas.  With the increased operational presence and the geological experience in Crockett and Val Verde Counties, Texas, Wolfcamp entered into the Roadrunner Acquisition and Development Agreement with Denver based FIML Natural Resources in 2005. Wolfcamp and FIML drilled 14 natural gas wells on the 35,000 acres. With FIML focusing its attention on drilling horizontal Wolfcamp Wells in Reagan County, Texas, Wolfcamp acquired their position in the Roadrunner Project in late 2015. In 2016 Wolfcamp entered into an agreement with The Reserve Petroleum Company, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to further develop the remaining 16,500 acres of the Roadrunner Project through re-processing 2-D Seismic.

November, 2024, Wolfcamp has acquired Bonfire Resources LLC’s Pandale Field Assets, which included 22 operated natural gas wells and natural gas gathering system.

November, 2025, Wolfcamp has acquired the assets of HEXP Energy, LLC (Midland, Texas), Simpson-Mann Field, Seahawk Gathering System and Seahawk Compressor Station. The acquisition includes 95 operated natural gas wells and 67 non-operated wells, which are operated by Hilcorp Permian, LLC located in Crockett and Val Verde Counties, Texas.
